KNOW What You’re Going To Earn – Start A Membership Site

I’m going to earn £1000.00 this month from my Internet marketing.  How do I know?

Because I’m running a membership site where I know how many members I’ve got and I know what they pay each month.

Yes, a few cancel but more join, so figures can pretty well be guaranteed each month.

Internet marketing can be a very hit and miss affair, especially if you just rely on affiliate income or something like AdSense where your income is so variable, you just don’t know where you are.

To get a guaranteed income from a membership site you should have a decent topic where you need to live and breathe your business.  Just as long as you plan ahead and know where you’re going.

Once you have members using the site and interacting with each other you’re away. Keeping them there is hard work, to say the least, but with enough content, interactivity and new, updated videos, webinars and downloads etc., it should keep the site busy.

So, how much can you earn with your own membership site?  Well, if you have just 1000 members and you are charging £100 per year for each member, you will be earning £100,000 a year.

If that sounds too good to be true, just think about it, you could have multiple levels of membership and charge even more for your ‘premium’ or advanced content.  Imagine that, earning over £100,000 a year from your very own membership site.

You obviously need to find members in order to get started.  If you already have a list, then that’s great, you’ll have a head start.  But to start with, you’ll need to attract the type of person you want to be a member.

You will need to draw attention to your website in every way possible so that people know you exist and ensure that you are supplying the sort of information that they wouldn’t mind paying for.  Build your list of subscribers from traffic to your site in order to get the eventual membership site off to a flying start.

By targeting your potential member, you will build your list more quickly.  Ensure that your niche has enough interest to support your products and competitors.  By choosing a market that will realisticly support you when 10% of the market are with you, is a good guide to stick to.

The most important thing is your choice of topic.  As well as being relatively broad in appeal in order to attract people it must not be too broad so it gets ‘lost’ with the competitors trying for the same numbers.

If your niche is too broad, you can ‘drill down’ to a smaller part of that niche so that there aren’t so many competing.  Obviously not too low so you haven’t got enough people interested in it but lower than trying to spread yourself too thinly and trying to be all things for all people.

Once you’ve got your membership started, you’ll need to see what content will keep them happy … what would they pay for?

If you’re very knowledgable about your topic, you need to keep it fresh, interesting and unique in order to give it value and, again, so that members won’t mind paying monthly for it.

Presenting your content in ways that will be consumed favourably by all is a key factor so, using video and webinars etc. will keep them coming back for more.

Just having heaps of things to read or download isn’t enough now-a-days, you need more.  Making the content easily accessable is also very imporant as, not finding content, is really frustrating for members.

A dead forum is no good to anyone, your chat or message posting forum must be kept alive and buzzing with activity.  In this way your own members keep it interesting so you, the site owner, doesn’t have to drive yourself crazy by keeping up to date … the members coming back to read replies and answers to their questions will keep it up to date.

Finally, don’t overcharge for the content.  What are they getting for their hard earned money?

Your prices have to be comfortable for your members or they’ll soon cancel after a few months … make it affordable.

You will get the regular continuity of income from your loyal members just as long as you give them what they want.  This means that you can plan ahead in your Internet marketing business knowing that you’re going to earn that £100,000 each year.

Many of the members of Nick-James.com are beginners but it doesn’t take long to build a list of subscribers and, then, to start a membership site for them once the numbers grow really isn’t that difficult as long as you are dedicated and focus on your content.
